Neptune Township School District needed to increase its Pre-K classroom capacity after the State of New Jersey made Pre-Kindergarten education for 3 and 4 year olds mandatory. The District identified an existing industrial building and tasked KJW with adapting and expanding the existing facility to serve its youngest students. The existing building was gutted and fully renovated with additions added to provide 18 classrooms along with the normal support spaces.

Features of this facility include a large cathedral ceilinged multi-purpose room for Physical Education, school wide gatherings and community events, a library / reading room and an inviting playground with direct access from the school. Bright colors were used throughout with skylights added at interior spaces to provide natural daylight. A seahorse logo was designed into the terrazzo entry hall floor to greet students upon arrival to the school.
